Dr. David Owuor and the East African quakes

It is my suggestion that sentiments to the effect that there could be a spiritual angle to these things that has not been captured by the local media (for reasons best known to them) be thoroughly investigated.
A few months ago (June, I think), some local and international Christians spoke in sentiments captured by sections of the media to warn that God was / is angry with us over the increase of sin within and outside His Body in this country (sexual immorality / lusts of the flesh, unfaithffulnness in interpersonal relationships, financial corruption, pride of the eyes, pride of life, including reports that some known believers / clergymen had resorted to seeking and using powers of darkness with which to serve God in preaching of the word, healing the sick, etc..etc).
The message was that we repent or perish, - perishing could come in several ways, including earthquakes (Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu were listed as places of extreme concern to the Lord).
Expectedly, the responses were varied.
The Head of State, reportedly informed of the impending disasters, cared about it his own way; he sent a minister to represent Him at a national day of repentance at Nyayo Stadioum (very much unlike what one sees in Nineveh when Jonah talks about more or less the same thing).
Some leading Church leaders here were reported to have poured cold water on the same and, like sections of our otherwise robust media / other skeptics, insisted that there was no need to get hysterical about anything, after all "God loves Kenya and Kenyans."
I know of a few congregations where believers got into individual and corporate repentance...some have persisted at it to this day...but that's where we are.
They say there is an intense spiritual contest for the heart and soul of this country on-going at the moment, off-shots of which are reportedly being expressed in debates about some of our national issues.
Certainly, it would be fool-hardy generally to want to characterize the East African quakes in light of what is happening elsewhere in the world but I think it would be useful for one of the persons who was reported to have predicted such here to come out and explain the latest phenomenon.
Dr. David Owuor, where are you?

it is clear that as christians we continue to come home after church saying my pastor has said this and that....my pastor has said.... did it ever occur to you to check what the bible says. preachers are all human and one time or the other we make commnets that are of our own making.yes i do agree with you that morality ha sincreased in mother kenya and am sure God is not for it. but if u revert to your bible and read it well and ask God for wisdom u will realise that after the coming of Jesus of nazareth, and worse the crucifiction of Jesus christ God does not act out in anger towards u. can you link Jesus christ as he was full of love, care and mercy striking you all down with an earth quake. it is good for us to attack raila and kiraitu over the forum but false accussation to the almighty are beyond our rights of free speech. your claim or the claim by those evangelists is as ludicris as saying.....the sunami in most muslim countries was a p;unishment from God to them. please read the gospels and tell me how you connect the death and destruction of people to God's wrath before the second coming of Jesus christ.please read the bible and ask God for wisdom to understand his word but do not hear the evangelist and make a conclusion, it's not fair on christ

Ditto.

For avoidance of doubt, I'm a believing and practising Christian.

I'm not under any illusions that guys are not wont to say or do anything in the name of Christ these days.

All I'm suggesting is that the one guy who was widely reported to have expressed such sentiments be called to account.

When such statements are dismissed as generally wild / hysterical / unsubstantiated, I think we do ourselves (Christians or not) a disfavour in two ways:

1. We lend credence to Karl Marx's adage that religion is the opiate of the masses.

2. We abandon our fellow country men and women, most of whom have no time or capacity for intellectual leisure as some of us obviously do, to the vagaries of deceitful / conceited men and women of the cloth.

Finally, I would be interested in a govt response on this because Dr. Alfred Mutua was reported in sections of our media earlier in the week as calming Kenyans following the incident.

Patriot i think you have opened a light in me that i hadn't thought of . Truth of the matter is that the Lord Jesus came to bring salvation (both of body and soul) as explaine d in John 3:16-17. So natural calamities are not a punishment from God because judgment will come after death where we shall be accountable for all our sins. Plus even Jesus said that these things shall happed but shall not be an indication of the end. the end will come in times of peace and pleasure!

PS it is also biblical as it were to question everything that we here an research them on our own,

Praise the LORD. Im Dr. David Owuor. The LORD has spoken with me about the Earthquakes and HE has commanded that we repent so that church can prepare for the Rapture. On the 30th Octobr 2005 I prophecied that this E.African Earthquake was going to come and a month later it appears after the initial earlier warning. Surely The LORD is very serious and HE has sent me to prophecy events such as the Asian Tsunami a moth before it occurred, Pakistani Earthquake, Afghanistani Earthquake (24hr warning), and the current tonardos in Illinois. Let the Church repent and prepare for the LORD. A

With regard to Dr.Owuors prophecy, I think some Christians fail to understand the nature of God. Yes,He is loving and kind, but you forget that the God of the Old Testament is the same one of the New Testament. Hebrews 13:8.Jesus is God. Therefore the same GOd who forgives is the same who can allow painful, destructive things to happen so that people can be drwan to Him, and that he can receive all the Glory. Do not be deceived by fine-sounding arguments but ask God for His wisdom that you may know Him better.

The prophesy of the earth quake is true and accurate coz Jesus spoke about it in all the 4 gospels. Besides John the apostle spoke about it in the Book of Revelation. To say that God is too Loving to Judge Kenya is to deny that hell is real and the final judgement will come. It goes without saying that immorality has increased in our churches to the extent that there is no fear of God. What is happening in kenya today in our churches is "Christian heathenism" and it is only fair to humble ourselves and listen to the prophet of GOD. The gospel of Repentance is real good news to us for our deliverance and ultimate preparedness to the rapture as this was the message of Jesus, Thee prophets and all the saints who have gone before us. So Dr. Owuor press up! I know your msg is unpopular but be encouraged in the word of God for those who were before you also met the same opposition in their days, including Jesus himself whose name they are using to cause pple to covet. God bless!

I have no problem with Dr. Owuor's prophecies, they are fairly accurate only that they are mostly on nothing other than earthquakes. However i find his visions interesting. His understanding of the times we are living is also questionable. He seems to have read the bible extensively. Unfortunately, most of his "mighty visions" seem to clash with the prophetic expectations of the day we are living in. Otherwise, i prefer him better than any other known Kenyan preacher, becoz of his message of repentance, even though he approaches it the wrong way.

When applied in cool, wet weather, it can cause burning
of the leaves and the russeting of fruit.
Due to the popularity of organic gardening, organic potting soil and compost
are available at most garden centers. Wood can be used as long as
it's not treated with chemicals.
